Unlike other coloring kits, CoSaMo has provided a healthy and natural way to color your hair in the comfort of your own home. Usually, when you first purchase a coloring kit the directions state several steps that you must follow before starting the process. CoSaMo has made it even easier by providing only one bottle that requires no mixing and no mess! All you have to do to ensure that you are getting the best results is follow these 5 tips and your hair will look as if you just stepped out of the salon!
Before coloring you want to make sure that your hair is in the best condition possible. Hair that is less damaged will keep the color looking vibrant and long lasting.1 If your hair is damaged avoid using any hot tools the week before coloring, this will give your hair the break it needs!
Don't wash your hair the day before! A lot of people don't realize that washing your hair every day can be damaging.1 You want to have at least second day hair when coloring because it will help the dye stick better. If you don't feel comfortable not washing your hair try using dry shampoo, it prevents your hair from looking oily and greasy without actually washing it.
After you've finished coloring don't wash your hair for at least 48 hours, this will give your hair the time it needs to fully absorb the color!1
Start using sulfate free and color-treated hair shampoo and conditioner.1 Several stores carry products that are made for color treated hair such as the John Frieda brand, which comes in various shades. You don't have to stop at just shampoo and conditioner, also try using color treated hair products like the Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold with UV filter for Color-Treated Hair.
When you're outside in the sun try wearing a hat, this will help to block your hair from the UV lights. If wearing a hat isn't really your style start using hair products that have SPF, this will protect your hair from being damaged by the sun and prevent the color from changing/fading!

It seems as though in every advertisement we see, the model has ultra shiny hair. While it would be ridiculous to not credit that partially to photo editing, it can still make us envious...and desperately desire glossy hair! Here are a few easy tips to avoid every-day hair damage and help you get the shiny hair you have always wanted:
Take cooler showers! Don’t freeze yourself but, if you’re used to taking steaming-hot showers, it’d definitely be beneficial for you if you turned it down a notch. According to health.com, heat splinters the surface of the hair and makes it seem uneven and dull. Rinsing your hair with cooler water for only ten seconds can help you achieve shinier hair!
Don’t rub your head with a towel after getting out of the shower! This causes breakage and damage to the wet-hair shaft. Instead, after getting out of the shower, you should slowly brush your hair with a wide-toothed comb. That is the least damaging after-shower hair care method!1
Hair dry properly! When blow drying, remember to direct the nozzle down the hair shaft. Then, afterwards, use the “cool” setting on your blow dryer to finish off your hair. Just like rinsing with cold water at the end of a shower, this will help you achieve shinier hair!2
Use a silicone flat iron! This might not be something we think about often, but metallic and ceramic flat irons cause a lot more damage to hair than silicone flat irons do, due to the fact that they are not as effective and take much longer to use.

If you desperately desire to look younger or are simply looking to rejuvenate your skin, here are a few of our favorite healthy and natural skin care recipes that will keep you from having to run to the store:
The second recipe we have to share with you is a bit more simple. Its only ingredient: honey! After you’ve cleansed your face, rub a tablespoon of honey all over it. After letting it sit for ten minutes, rinse it off with warm water. This will draw out skin impurities!2
This recipe is incredibly simple as well! Brew a cup of white tea on medium heat. When the tea is warm, place a face cloth into it and then press the cloth over your eyes. This will help open up pores and deflate the bags under your eyes.
For our last recipe, you will need 1 tablespoons of cocoa butter, ½ tablespoon of dark organic honey, 2 drops of sesame oil and 2 drops of apricot oil. Mix these ingredients together until a nice, creamy texture is achieved and say goodbye to wrinkles!3

We all take preventative measures to protect our hair against damage during the day, but what about when we’re sleeping at night? Sometimes the way we sleep can damage our hair and we don’t even realize it! Here are a few tips to avoid hair damage while you’re sleeping:
Make sure your hair is conditioned! You don’t need to condition your hair right before bed, but it’s important to keep in mind that conditioned hair is much less likely to break!1
Brush your hair before bed! It’s normal to wake up with tangles in your hair but if you brush your hair before you go to sleep, you’ll wake up with less! This will make brushing your hair in the morning a lot easier, as well as lead to less breakage!
Braid your hair! This will restrict how much your hair will move throughout the night, thus leading to less damage!2
Sleep on silk or satin! These fabrics are smooth and therefore, create a lot less friction against your hair!

Peppermint, known for its aroma and its use in beverages and foods, can also be really great for your hair! Here are a few of the benefits it has for hair and skin:
It minimizes pores, reduces swelling, restores skin elasticity, AND helps soothe and heal skin impurities and blemishes! Filled with vitamin A, B and C, peppermint fights inflammation, brightens your complexion, and treats a variety of skin issues (like hives or rashes).1
It treats dandruff! Create a hair rinse from peppermint tea and nettle leaves and have the perfect remedy for dandruff.
It helps prevent head lice! Peppermint has antibacterial properties and therefore is very effective in treating head lice infestation.
It promotes hair growth! WatchMyHairGrow.net discusses how using peppermint oil on your hair can help it grow. This is because it can “relax blood vessels and stimulate blood flow to hair follicles.” Mix three drops of peppermint oil with three tablespoons of water and apply it to your scalp to start seeing results!

To be healthy, you must make a habit out of eating healthy. The earlier you form a habit, the easier it is to keep that habit...and that’s why encouraging your children to eat healthy snacks instead of sugar and fat-filled alternatives is important!
Here are a few healthy snack ideas:
Apple slices and peanut butter! While peanut butter may have artificial sugar, it has less sugar than most snack alternatives. Opting for an all-natural peanut butter in this case is best. MedicalNewsToday.com reminds us of the nutiritonal properties of apples: they contain Vitamin C, dietary fiber, phytonutrients, calcium, and potassium among other beneficial substances. Apples are known to reduce the risk of developing cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. Peanut butter has health benefits as well! It contains protein, potassium, fiber and other nutrients.1 According to Dr.Oz, peanut butter can help fight cancer as well!
Trail mix! It is the perfect snack option because you can decide exactly what you put in it! Try incorporating fruits like cranberries and apricots! Cranberries are known to be good for the health and heart, potentially helping fight against cancer and heart disease, among other diseases.2 Apricots can also benefit your health. Like cranberries, apricots have been known to prevent cancer due to their laetrile properties. Also, they are known for being good for eye health, anemia, skin health and weight loss.3
Strawberry and cream cheese sandwich! EatingWell.com suggests this treat. Use reduced-fat cream cheese to make this delicious snack. Strawberries help burn stored fat, boost short term memory, promote bone health, lower cardiovascular disease, and prevent oesophageal cancer (these are just a few of the health benefits!).4
